Export Drive Aims to Offset Inflation

Washington—Foreign military sales of the Navy/McDonnell Douglas RGM-84A Harpoon air-to-surface missile system are expected to aid the Navy in overcoming inflation and cost growth increases in the program. Washington—Margin for error in U. S. airline management decision-making evaporated with the tough and unforgiving economic pressures of 1975, and there is no indication that the pressures will be relieved in the coming year. Certificated-carrier operating profits plummeted 83.4% from $810 million in 1974 to only $134.5 million for the 12 months ending Sept. 30.
