NTSB Reports on Crash of Boeing 727

About 1926 EST on Dec. 1, 1974, Northwest Airlines Flight 6231, a Boeing 727-251, crashed about 3.2 naut. mi. west of Thiells, N. Y. Flight 6231 was a ferry flight to Buffalo, N. Y. The accident occurred about 12 min. after the flight had departed John F. Kennedy International Airport, Jamaica, N. Y.

MRCA Production Decision Due Soon

Munich—Quantity production of the European multirole combat aircraft (MRCA) variable-geometry fighter is expected to get under way early in 1976, following a tripartite milestone meeting to assess the current flight test program. Executives of Panavia, the consortium formed to build the aircraft, and TurboUnion, the RB.199 engine development team, are looking for a favorable report from defense officials of Great Britain, Italy and West Germany, both on cost control and on flight testing.
