Forest Service Sets Fleet Modernization
Washington—U. S. Forest Service is attempting to modernize the fleet of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft it operates in varied missions. The aircraft, in part, at least, constitute a museum of aircraft dating to World War 2. The Forest Service, a branch of the Agriculture Dept., operates a total of 600 aircraft, a number exceeded in the U. S. only by the military services.
