French Pilots Want Advisory Role in Certification Process

Paris—France’s airline pilot union is proposing that it be given an advisory role on French air transport certification matters to provide government officials with its expertise on operational aspects of the airline industry. If such an advisory capacity were granted by the French government to the Syndicat National des Pilotes de Ligne (SNPL), the organization anticipates its members would have the opportunity to provide input on such matters as aircraft certification and approval of new air carriers.
