A variety of semiconductor technologies and architectural approaches have been proposed by the nine companies and industrial teams competing for three to five Phase l contracts to be awarded this spring to design and fabricate very complex-function microcircuits under the Defense Dept.’s very high speed integrated circuit (VHSIC) program.
