Airbus Consortium Nears Final Assembly of A310

Toulouse, France—Production of Airbus Industrie’s new A310 wide-body transport is continuing on schedule as the European airframe consortium works toward the start this month of final assembly for the initial A310 aircraft. All of the major airframe sections for the prototype aircraft are being completed at the various facilities of Airbus Industrie members, and these components will be shipped during the next few weeks to the Toulouse plant here for the final assembly phase.
