New Orleans—Air Force Materials Laboratory is planning to develop an accuracy sensor that would generate robot control commands six times more precise than those driving robots now in use for fabrication of aircraft parts. A request for proposals covering robotics development to cost $2.85 million is scheduled for issuance Mar. 15 by the laboratory's Computer Integrated Manufacturing Branch.
