On Jan. 13, 1982, Air Florida Flight 90, a Boeing 737-222 (N62AF) was a scheduled flight to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., from Washington National Airport, Washington, D. C. There were 74 passengers, including three infants, and five crewmembers on board.

Boeing Rolls Out Its 747-300 Transport

Everett, Wash.—Boeing Co. rolled out its 747-300 last week—the third new model it has unveiled in 13 months—and believes the aircraft is well-timed despite the depressed state of the airline business. At a time when used wide-body aircraft are glutting the market, Boeing rolled out the largest capacity transport yet—a 747 with the upper deck extended to haul even more passengers (AW&ST Sept. 13, p. 36).

Exhibitors at the National Business Aircraft Assn.’s 35th annual conference here pointed to marked effects of the U.
