Usaf Studies New Standoff Weapons

Washington—U. S. Air Force is preparing a request for information to industry that could lead to a major program for a deep strike/interdiction conventional weapon system to attack massed armor at ranges up to 300 naut. mi. A stealth missile proposal by Northrop to the Air Force has sparked service interest in trying to establish with the Army joint service operational requirements that would permit exploitation of designs based on new, innovative technology applications.
