Hughes Ccis to Aid European Defense

Los Angeles—Hughes Aircraft Co. is developing an information management system that will provide northern European commanders with timely and accurate data for improved air defense command and control and battle management. Norway and Denmark have awarded three fixed-price contracts to Hughes Information Systems, a unit of the company’s Ground Systems Group, for $80 million to develop and produce the command and control information systems (CCIS).

Hughes Boosts Ah-64 Production Rate

Mesa, Ariz.—Production rate for the Army/Hughes AH-64 Apache advanced attack helicopter is scheduled to rise to 12 vehicles a month by 1986 at Hughes Helicopters’ new assembly and flight test center here. That rate could double to fulfill any future requirements, according to company officials.
