Triple Satellite Payload to Study Van Allen Belts

Washington—Three spacecraft built by the U. S., West Germany and Great Britain are to be launched on a single McDonnell Douglas Delta booster Aug. 9 to conduct coordinated operations for new data on the Van Allen radiation belts and to create a large artificial comet that will be visible on Earth.
