Wilmington, Del.—Israel Aircraft Industries' Astra is a new aircraft bearing little resemblance to the company's Westwind line of corporate aircraft. The Astra offers ample cabin size, long range at a high cruise speed, and lowand high-speed handling characteristics that are difficult to match.

United Expansion Goals Pressure Competitors' Plans

New York—Bold expansion of United Airlines in 1986 is placing new pressures on U. S. airlines already fighting for market share and rewriting strategic plans to defend against United's move to the Pacific. United is scheduling a 7-10% boost in domestic capacity, an expansion independent of its takeover of transpacific routes from Pan American World Airways, which President Reagan approved last week.
