Defense Experts Predict More Laws Covering Military Procurement

Washington—Congressional defense experts predict 1986 will produce another round of legislation governing defense procurement, although the agenda has not coalesced. Recent reform initiatives were aimed at emphasizing competition, tightening up Pentagon/industry hiring practices and narrowing the kinds of general overhead allowed against defense contracts (AW&ST July 1, p. 26, May 27, p. 24).
