Sas Moves Toward Europe-wide Overnight Package Delivery Service

Cologne, West Germany—Establishment of Scandinavian Airlines System’s new cargo hub here is expected to contribute to the airline’s first cargo profits in years during the first year of the hub's operation. The new hub, which is SAS’s first major operation to be located outside Scandinavia, is to play a role in the airline’s plans to develop a Europe-wide overnight door-to-door cargo delivery system.

Paris—France is pressing Britain to book the No. 3 Skynet 4-series military communications satellite on the Ariane launcher, and Europe's Arianespace marketing/management group has offered to help underwrite a portion of the costs to modify the spacecraft to make it compatible with the launcher.
