Allison Engine Chosen for Saab 2000; Sweden Certifies Saab 340b Transport

Saab-Scania has selected a commercial, turboprop version of the Allison T406 powerplant to power its high-speed, 50seat Saab 2000 regional transport. The Allison engine, designated the GMA 2100, is a modular powerplant planned for certification at 4,550 shp. in early 1992.
