U. S. Army Approves Initial Design Phase of Longbow Radar System for Ah-64

Army has approved a 14month “initial design phase” for its Longbow program, an attempt to give the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter a radar targeting system and a fire-and-forget missile. The service will not commit itself to full-scale development of the system until next May, however.

SIOUX CITY Firefighting teams and medical workers had about 35 min. to get into position before a United Airlines DC-10 crashed at the Sioux Gateway Airport and were able to reach survivors immediately to begin evacuation to local hospitals.
