New, More Aggressive Leadership Takes Helm of Controllers’ Union

WASHINGTON A new executive team which calls itself aggressive has taken over leadership of the National Air Traffic Controllers Assn., the union that represents 14,500 U. S. air traffic controllers. “We’ve got a clear mandate from the membership, not a mandate to hammer the FAA, but to be more aggressive in our dealings with the agency, Congress and user groups,” Barry Krasner, the new association president, said.

Douglas Launches MD-11 CF Version With Order From Martinair-Holland

LOS ANGELES Douglas Aircraft Co. has launched the Convertible Freighter version of the MD-11 trijet with an order from Martinair-Holland for three of the aircraft and two options. The firm orders are scheduled for delivery in 1995. The order brings to four the number of MD-11 types available, which previously included the passenger, freighter and combi versions.
