Rice said the cost of the stealthy cruise missile has increased substantially, and prime contractor Northrop is “not out of the woods yet.”

First Md Explorer Fuselage Completed; Initial Flight May Slip to 1993

PHOENIX The first fuselage of McDonnell Douglas Helicopter’s MD Explorer has been completed and is scheduled for delivery to the company’s plant here this week. That particular unit will be limited to structural ground testing. A second fuselage, which is designated to be the first flight vehicle, will be completed in late July at the Hawker de Havilland facility in Melbourne, Australia.

Eurocopter’s Nh-90 Faces Changes If French Order Falls Through

BERLIN Unless Eurocopter gets a French commitment to fund the NH-90 multirole helicopter by the end of July the program will have to be recast to keep the interest of the German and Dutch navies, France’s president has warned. Speaking at the Berlin air show, President Jean-Francois Bigay said the helicopter must be launched next month to keep on schedule for deliveries to Germany and Holland by 1998.
