U. S. Weighs Use of Nonlethal Weapons in Serbia If U. N. Decides to Fight

WASHINGTON Highly classified, nonlethal weapons developed in the U. S. could be used against Serbia if military action is initiated by the United Nations to protect Bosnia-Herzegovina against further attack. Sen. Sam Nunn (D.-Ga.), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said the destruction of Serbian bridges and air power with conventional weapons were among the military options to stop further aggression.

Air Force Expected to Combine Vista, Vectored Thrust Demonstration Programs

FT. WORTH LOS ANGELES The Air Force is expected to approve within the next two weeks a plan to combine the multi-axis thrust-vectoring demonstration program for the General Dynamics F-16 and the F-16 Vista variable stability program. The plan, which will jointly fund the two projects and use the existing Vista aircraft to demonstrate both technologies, already has been approved by Materiel Command.

MOSCOW Russia is seeking to expand its high speed aircraft research, development, and test work in an effort to consolidate the country’s position in the field of supersonic and hypersonic flight. Industry managers attending last week’s MosAeroshow ’92 industry exhibit said priority is being given to these efforts in order to maintain Russia’s level of technology in the field.
