TARGET DATE SET FOR RESTART OF ATLAS/CENTAUR MISSIONS

WASHINGTON General Dynamics hopes to resume Atlas/Centaur missions in the first half of next year, based on a schedule that would allow flight delays caused by last August's launch accident to be recovered by the end of 1993. Program managers have set late January as the working date for the next mission, although the general goal is to fly within the first or second quarter.
