Peruvian Air Force Buys Belarus Su-25s

WASHINGTON The balance of military power between Peru and Ecuador is in flux again, with Peru having made a new agreement with Belarus to buy 14 Su-25 Frogfoot ground attack aircraft and a number of mobile surface-to-air missiles. This purchase is in addition to a buy of 12-18 MiG-29 fighters announced earlier last month.

Finally, Pentagon Plans to Tap AIM-9X Builder

WASHINGTON After a decade of controversy and delay, the Pentagon is expected to select a contractor Dec. 13 to develop the next-generation AIM-9X short-range, infrared air-to-air missile. The U.S. is expected to buy up to 10,000 of the missiles, and there is the potential for substantial foreign sales as allied nations upgrade their Sidewinder inventories to overcome the advances in foreign-made short-range missiles already on the market or nearing production.
