S. world market dominance. U. S. industry and Defense officials here said that within the past few years European companies, banding together, have closed the technology gap with the U. S. in the development of missile components and subsystems, demonstrating in some cases surprising advances.

Air Force Deploys Kc-10; Savings Cited

U. S. Air Force has estimated its first McDonnell Douglas KC-10 operational deployment saved approximately $300,000 in fuel and maintenance costs that is normally associated with a deployment of that size. The KC-10 advanced tanker/cargo aircraft escorted eight Air National Guard A-7 fighters from Tulsa, Okla., to the United Kingdom on May 29 (AW&ST June 8, p. 63).
