Grumman Expands Composite Capacity

Milledgeville, Ga.—Grumman Aerospace Corp. is adding capacity and tools to its composites manufacturing plant here in anticipation of a steady growth in the composite materials market. Thomas J. Lahey, general manager, said a company study based on its own research and forecasts by the Air Force and Grumman suppliers indicates that aerospace use of fiber components alone will grow at rates of 22-38% a year over the next 10 years.
